Guest DancingMatt Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 If I got an E200 and a bluetooth dongle, do they immediately work on anything with a USB port? So I just plug in the BT dongle and it's off, making the E200 like a USB key drive, so I could plug into a mate's PC and then just copy files to the E200, without them needing ActiveSync installed? It's not going to happen, is it? I'm being optimistic, right? Even if this doesn't happen, might be convenient for syncing so are these dongles generally cheapest from the US? Over eBay or another retailer? Cheers DM
Guest MECX Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 The bluetooth dongle will work on Windows XP without drivers (but to make sure get a well known manufacturer) but not windows 98 or me (or 2000 i think). I dont have an E200 so am not sure if you need Activesync installed to transfer files BUT you can trnsfer files over infrared without activesync and i heard smartexplorer is gonna support bluetooth sending soon. I dont think you will be able to 'browse' the files on your E200 wihout third party software.
