ActiveSync 3.7.1

my girlfriend has an mpx200 and for some reason it only comes up as smartphone on Activesync just after i install it, when i replace the fone into the cradle it often comes up as guest... meaning nothing can be done with it, so will updating to activesync 3.7.1 fix this? as opposed to 3.6?

or is there another way around ?

Well, I'm running 3.7.1 and the phone partnership lists the phone as MPX200.

The OS (XP pro) only recognises it as "my Smartphone" though.

Do you have more than one phone using Activsync?

If not try and delete the partnership and create a new one.

I thought it only worked with 3.7 or above and that is what comes on the CD.

Sycnronisation works fine for me with 3.7. We Synch two phones using different logon accounts. Both are shown as Smartphone and I don't see anyway to change this since this is the device name and I haven't found a way to change it. I don't think you can synch two phones within one logon account but you certainly can with seperate logons. I also synch to an iPAQ on my logon and this works fine.
