If i Unlock my att mpx200 & use tmobile sim will i be ab

I have a tmobile sidekick that i was about to cancel til i heard you can unlock the mpx200 phone and use the tmobile sim...i ordered it thru amazon.com to get the rebate from att but if i cancel their service to use the tmobile sim then i wont get the rebate...no rebate fine with me...but if i cancel att service then i have no warranty to replace or fix the phone...so i was thinkin if i still unlocked the phone and kept and both sims could i use both in the mpx200? Cause the tmobile sim is unlimited data...both bills together would only be $50 a month i figure that to be a better way to save money cause i know att charges an arm and a leg for data and text messages. I canceled my last phone because of that reason they'd tell me id never go over the mb i was payin for yeah right!

Or, just add T-Mobile's insurance on your MPX200 and you are all set in case the phone goes crazy. I just called about this yesterday. T-Mo's insurer is a third-party company (forget the name currently) and I specifically asked them, "I have a Motorola MPX200 from another cellular provider that I ported to T-Mobile service. Even though this phone is not offered by T-Mobile, will you insure it?" They said yes as long as it has a T-Mobile SIM card in it. I then asked what happens if it breaks or gets stolen, they said they search to find a replacement of the same model through different vendors, and if they can't find it you get the next model up.

Call first to confirm, but that is that the CSR at the insurance company told me yesterday.
