Guest fitz Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Anyone know if any of the Dizzy's are on the SPV? I know you can get a Spectrum Emulator but I can't find any Dizzy Speccy Roms. Anyone willing to do a port to SPV?
Guest cerberus_uk Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 you want to check out www.yolkfolk.com most dizzy games are available there, plus loads of other dizzy stuff
Guest fitz Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 I'm just downloading them now...........
Guest fitz Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 I've downloaded the rom, but my pocketclive (Speccy Emul) doesn't work........ Downloaded a couple NES ones......WICKED!!! :D  :( Cheers for the link
Guest Croccy22 Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Hate to sound like a nagging moderator but all dizzy games are still copyright CodeMasters and therefore any roms are classed as warez unless you own the originals. This would also make it difficult to do a 'port' as it would have to be licensed by codemasters and I expect they are more concerned with their newer projects than taking time sorting out licensing agreements for home developers, it's just not worth their while. Of course i would love to be proved wrong. Matt
Guest cerberus_uk Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 The Oliver twins own half of the copyright, codemasters have ok'd the downloads as well. i cant find the link at the momment, but they said it was cool. The Oliver twins official website even links to it! http://www.blitzgames.com/olivertwins/
Guest Croccy22 Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Hmm seems a little strange since codemasters asked World of Spectrum to remove all codemasters games from their downloads due to copyright issues. Even so they definately havn't removed the copyright of these games so making a port would have to go through official channels. Until then we will have to put up games called Diamond Island Skizzy, and Fantasy Country Skizzy  Matt
Guest muff Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 not all codemaster games are Oliver twin games remember
Guest fitz Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 But then again doesn't 95% of all people over the age of 20 own at least 1 speccy or Commerdo 64 dizzy games...therefore are able to download it legitamitely?! I think my favourite was either "Prince of the Yolkfolk" or "Crystal Kingdom", but then again the original was a cracker too....actually they were all pretty good! Well not Kwik Fast or Bubble, but the rest were! So hands up.... who hasn't got a least one dizzy game for the C64/Spectrum up in the loft, under the bed, in the cupboard, on top of the wardrobe? Not many, I would imagine!
Guest Baker0 Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Superb game, I had it on the amstrad cpc 464 Best graphics over the speccy and Commerdo 64 but didnt have as many games as them.
Guest Croccy22 Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I actually used to like kwik snax dizzy, really catchy music  Would suite the smartphone quite well too :D Matt http://www.spvsoft.co.uk
Guest fitz Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Kwik Snack Dizzy....... I played that one through my SmartNES, I found it just as annoying as the one the speccy! Kwik Snack Dizzy (like Bubble Dizzy) isn't what people would really call a Real Dizzy game....it's more of a spin off that codemasters did as they started to run out of ideas for the classic stradegy game. then again...if there were people out there that liked it, and it sold pretty well...... I'm sure Codemaster's weren't complaining!
Guest Zimbu Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 My MPX200 won't runt pocket clive... any ideas on how else to get dizzy running?
Guest SystemicAnomaly Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 Just found dizzy sprite graphics on www.yolkfolk.com I bet there's a few smartphone developers willing to work on Dizzy in Orange-Customers-Services-Land. No copyright issues with a new adventure is there?
Guest Zimbu Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Yes there is copyright issues. Codemasters own half the rights, Oliver Twins the other half. There is a video teaser to judge customer reactions to a new game at http:www.fantasticdizzy.com Having said that, the yolkfolk.com page is the official fanpage and neither the twins nor codemasters have grumbled at their blatant offering of original spectrum snapshots and unofficial fan games. Checkout the yolkfolk.com for more details.
