e200 (newbie) can't get bluetooth operating - please help

Just got my first smartphone - e200 but can't get bluetooth working. My work colleagues have other bluetooth phones and they can see each others on bluetooth and one can see me but I can't see anyone elses phone.

I have not yet enabled multi media services on my orange account. Could that be the problem?

have you tryed switching it on??

go to settings option 8 bluetooth and choose on or discoverable ( the second option is a battery eater ) and check your headsets book for info on pairing the phone to the headset ( no book check on line by the maker of the headset for info or the manual ) there are also settings under configurations the bt 's are bluetooth check your spv's manual on how to use these ( no manual download one from oranges website )hope this helps

Also make sure you have Beam receive set on .. its for IR and Bluetooth !!

Thanks people, I've followed your advice and lotsa from the forums. I'll need to wait until tomorrow to try it out as I've no other bluetooth devices at home.

Tried it at work today. Wouldn't link with mates phone but connected ok with a USB dongle, so everythings ok. I guess the bluetooth capabilities of the e200 fall behind those of the other phone.

depends what phone your mate had as i have also a siemens and a nokia both have bluetooth and both cannot connect same with the spv but between a headset and a computer with blue tooth it works ( the nokia and siemens also work with the computer ) its got to be company related ie not wanting nokia files say on a siemens ect , look at the headsets some will not work with the spv or say nokia and some will, :wink: :wink:
