PacketVideo 3.3b108: Also for E200/Qtek8080 ? And how ?

Hello,

tried to install the .cab file of PacketVideo 3.3 on my Qtek8080.

The istallation went without the flaw.

But contrary to the PC or PocketPC version of this application I am unable to access any streaming URL from within the program itself.

I have a correct URL of an mp4 stream (WebCam), which is introduced in the Favorites by rtsp://

This link works on my PC and on my iPAQ.

If I invoke it the PacketVideo client is invoked but its screen keeps black.

Upon pressing Menue and Clips an error message appears (Error 50070, error in PVPlayer).

***

Has anyone successfully installed the PacketVideo 3.3b108 client on an E200 or Qtek8080 ?

If so, pls describe me in detail how you have done it.

How (and where) can I enter links to streaming sources (e.g. Webcams) ?

Somehow directly in PacketVideo ?

Via the Internet Explorer ?

Please help.

Thanks a lot !

Gerhard

Not all PocketPC apps will work on the SmartPhone. A lot will, but not all and I guess this another one of those that won't.

I guess the only way you could get it to work is either via asking the makers of PocketVideo to make a version for the SmartPhone, or make one yourself...

Basically it is correct that PocketPC applications won't work on a Smartphone.

However this *IS* the Smartphone Edition of the PacketVideo Player !!!

Yet, I do not know if it is designed for a Smartphone 2002 or a 2003.

Mine is a Qtek 8080, which is Smartphone 2003.

The Help screen says nothing about it, neither said the uploader to Modaco :-(

And this version differs from the PocketPC version by not giving access to the Bookmark section.

At least I am unable to get access to it or maybe it's the OS of the phone.

AGAIN:

Has anyone tried out that version from Modaco on a Smartphone 2003 ?

Regards

Gerhard

Sorry:

This utility is called PacketVideo, not PocketVideo (misspelled it myself on one occasion).

So this is perhaps why you didn't find the link when searching here.
