Hi, Just got my new MPX200 and Im really pleased with it so far.

Can anyone tell me what the connection is on the phone for the data cable as I want to get another one for work.

Is it a standard Mine USB ?

It means to decertify your phone - Orange and Microsoft software-lock their Smartphones so uncertified applications can't run, or in some cases, can't even load. Unfortunately, a lot of the great software for the phones is uncertified, so to run the software you need to decertify.

Do a search to find the CAB file which will do it for your MPx200 - I did it for a friend this weekend and it works a treat!

Decert means to application unlock your phone. Orange have set the phone so that only signed applications (which have to be paid for) run on it. If you application unlock, or decert, this is removed and you can run excellent programmes such as Pocket TV.

Look at Alphaflux's programme here. Download it, copy it to IPSMWindowsStart Menu the goto your phone and click on it to install.

Other noobie top tips; uninstall MMS client (unless you use it) and caller ID and then reboot phone.

Get as big an SD card as possible (or wipe the one that came with the phone) and install all programmes to that).

Freeware is available at www.monolithix.org but you must be decerted / app unlocked.

Any other probs just ask

Thanks mcwarre, getting all the info together before I do anything silly.

By the way is there an easy way to get new ringtones, as none on the sites seem to work, no one seems to support the smartphones for ringtones. I have loaded a few mid files but most dont work ! Any help or advice on this matter would be gratefully accepted.

You can do it yourself and it is free! What you need is a programme that can chop up a .wav file (CD) into whatever size chunk you want. Then place it in mobile devicemy smartphoneIPSMApplication DataSounds and away you go.

Best thing you can actually recognise the toon rather than those cr*ppy nokia ones. Be careful; too many ringtones eats up your RAM. Personally I only have one custom ringtone on the phone.

You can put them on the SD Card (see here) but I would advise against it tbh.
