Guest stevenpengilly Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Sorry but I have tried for days to get my e-mail to work. Its obviously in the settings but for the life of me I cannot get it to do anything. Start with the basics, fone all connected, GPRS,MMS etc and working. Trying to connect to orange.net but no joy!! I also have a tiscali.co.uk address, they assure me they support pop3 so can anybody offer me a suggestion, possibly the settings to make my tiscali acc work. Many thanks in anticipation :?:
Guest James Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 orange.net is working fine for me........ just tried it. Acount: Orange Name: James Lovell E-mail address: ***@orange.net User name: ***** Password: ***** Domain: none Server Type: pop3 Account Name: ***** Network: The Internat Incoming mail server: pop.orange.net Outgoing mail server: smtp.orange.net remember you have to actully tel the phone to Send/Receive mail go get it to send..
Guest stevenpengilly Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Thank you for that, any idea how is set it up for tiscali? somebody must have tried, sadly tiscai have not been that helpful with their settings.
Guest martin Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Have you tried this tiscali link ? http://www.tiscali.co.uk/help/ataglance I don't use them myself I'm not sure if any of them work
Guest stevenpengilly Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Thank you Martin I think that ws just what I was after. Sadly I'm new to this fone and still cant decide from those settings where they actually go in the setup and what do I put in the the ones they dont cover.
Guest martin Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Not sure :? You could try You name: Whatever E-mail Address: yourname@tiscali.co.uk Server type: POP3 Incoming mail server: pop.tiscali.co.uk Outgoing mail server: smtp.tiscali.co.uk (if orange use smtp.orange.net) Network:: The Internet Username: youname@tiscali.co.uk Password: your password Or something like that Also not that E-mail uses the 'Internet Connection' (in Data Connections) so you must have internet access setup.
Guest stevenpengilly Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 many thanks again martin I will try it
Guest stevenpengilly Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Many thanks martin that worked when I sent myself a msg. All I got to do now is learn how to read it on the fone. At the moment I have E-Mail (1) on the home screen and when I highlight it and press the action key it goes to sms screenpage, if I, left and right the action button there's nothing showing e-mail screen to allow me to read it.
Guest john.-h Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 also have tiscali but set settings and can read ok any problems email me [email protected] and i will explain stage by stage start to finish
