If you want to run a original SPV on O2 for instance how do you decert the phone?

I take it that you cannot go the OTA route and the bootloader route is flawed if you have the 1.6 update.

Any help would be great! :?

bit confused..do you want to de cert or do you want to network unlock your phone?

if you you to decert you can use an active sync connection and use a pass through internet connection..

My friend has an O2 sim and he is buying an SPV. I have said that I would help him SIM unlock it and de cert it so he is all set up. However realised that once he SIM unlocks it he may be in trouble for decerting it the OTA way!

Is it possible to unlock via the pass through method without being an orange customer? does the IMEI number have to be registered to his number etc? Is there another route?

I heard that if you sim unlock the phone with SIMunlock2 it decerts it any way cos you are effectively no longer under orange certification. Is there any truth in this?

Thanks.

Check this link for the download:

And this thread for the discussion on the success or not of the app-unlocking tool:

This would suit you, if it does work, as I'm sure an Orange SIM isn't required to run this tool.

Don't know about the accuracy of SIM Unlock doing an APP Unlock as well. I did a 1.6 update recently, but immediately did the OTA APP Unlock after. Never thought of just trying to install some apps before doing the OTA.
