MPx error: SIM LOST

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I bought the MPx200 (in Italy, no brand) from about 15 days ago and from little less than one week my phone often shows (about two times at the day) this error:

SIM Lost

Errore

The SIM is invalid or cannot be detected. Verify if it is inserted properly.

usually all the morning, that is after the phone has not been used any more for 6-8 hours.

The only solution is to turn off the phone and restart it.

I have a Wind 64k SIM card (italian operator).

Can you help me?

The SIM holder is not very well designed on the MPX and the two small

lugs that hold the card in place can break off. A simple fix for this is to

place some paper between the SIM and the battery to help to hold it in

place.

I don't think there is a problem with SIM holder, 'cause the phone remains still all the night !

Are the two little black 'lugs' broken tho? During the night you are not moving the phone so it might be ok. During the day when moving it it may cause the problem. Please check because I think that awarner is right

Same Problem Here. The trouble is that the SIM clip does not hold the chip tight against the phones contacts. To correct, pad the area above the battery before replacing the back cover. Just a little will fix the problem.

I can't understand this:

Are the two little black 'lugs' broken tho?

sorry for my poor english!

Every way I've tried the paper-trick!

Tomorrow I'll let you know if it works... thanks!

What mcwarre is talking about the two lugs is on the SIM holder

there is a metal slide, opposite this should be two small pieces of plastic that hold the card in place. It's this plastic that is known to break off causing your problem.

The two "lugs" aren't broken... now the phone works perfectly, tomorrow I'll check if everything is ok or if still there's the fuc*ed message!

Nero,

Look here http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=103799 . Can you see the photo in the top right? Look at the brown SIM. Can you see the two little black holders (Lugs or tabs?) holding it in place? That is what I mean.

As ashley has said, try putting a bit of paper between it and the battery. Let us know how you get on!!!!
