Guest charlieafif Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I just tested my GPRS speed on my new orange SPV E200 on www.ppcw.net (the link that says test your speed) After 3 years  i got a reading of a measly 6kbps. Surely there's something i'm doing wrong in its configuratuion. How can i up my speed anyone? i thought it was at least 28kbps!? By the way - other than that its truely an amazing phone/gadget. Peforms very well and if you don't use the SD card too much (i.e. take it out most of the time) the battery life is dramatically increased. Thanks in advance Charlie
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 28kbps = 28 kilobits per second.... which equals 6kb/s = 6 kilobyte per second... don't be fooled by those figures.... a 1mbit adsl line doesnt mean you will download with 1mb/s the sum is Kbit / 8 = kbyte it's really odd yeah... but that's the way it is....
Guest Lourdes Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 28kbps = 28 kilobits per second.... which equals 6kb/s = 6 kilobyte per second... Fail maths? 28Kbp/s is ~3.5KBp/s
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 I just got 35.6kbps using my MPX200
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Fail maths? 28Kbp/s is ~3.5KBp/s 1byte = 8 bit right? oh dear guess i failed math :D... hahahahahhaha sorry i posted that 7.00 am my time and just woke up
