Guest netcetera Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Hello All, We are about to launch an API that allows you to determine the location of mobile phones within the UK. Longitude/Latitude as well as address/mapping details are available. Ideal for location-based applications including games and business apps. Feel free to contact [email protected] for further details
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 is this software or technique going to be free (at your site?)..... sounds nice (but i live in holland)
Guest netcetera Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Many thanks for your interest! We have 2 pricing models - Pay As You Go and Bulk pricing - please contact [email protected] for further details. At the moment, it only works with all 4 UK Network Operators - however we have plans to roll the service out throughout Europe in the near future.
Guest nick_randolph Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Any chance we can get a version for Australia?
Guest Maverick Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Why do I have to pay for this. The networks provide this service for free.
Guest netcetera Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 The UK Network Operators do charge for this. Note, this is not just CellID but Longitude and Latitude - the greater the density of the network's masts, the greater the accuracy of the location. In urban areas, the accuracy can be down to 50-500 metres. In less built-up areas, the accuracy may be reduced to kilometres.
