Guest v1nn1e Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 My phone keeps on deselecting the check box in settings->beam. I have to keep on checking the option everytime i wanna receive from bluetooth or IR to make sure it is set to 'receive incoming beams'! Any ideas why it keeps deselecting? Anyone else with this problem?
Guest shadamehr Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 As far as I recall, it is by design - it cannot be set to stay on. BUT... there's a thought - surely one of the clever folks on here can easily do an app to change this behaviour???
Guest v1nn1e Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 so it happens to everybodies phone then? thats really silly! you could be on the train and someone could be sending you some good s*** through bluetooth, yet our phones will reject it because it decided to stop incoming beams! The worst part is that we wouldnt' even know! :x
Guest [email protected] Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Does it shut down Bluetooth/IR in the middle of a transfer?
Guest v1nn1e Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 no, it doesn't allow people to send you anything. they would get a sending error, you would not, hense you are unaware of anything.
Guest zahar Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 My Beam settings stay ON, even after a soft reset. I am using the O2 XPhone.

Guest jonblakeburn Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 I turned mine to "Receive incoming beams" last night at about 9pm, and its still on now - 18 and a half hours later. Bog standard Developers E200. :?
Guest davo141 Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 i also have the developers e200, but the beam settings turn off after a while .. unless i have bluetooth turned on
Guest shadamehr Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I turned mine to "Receive incoming beams" last night at about 9pm, and its still on now - 18 and a half hours later. Bog standard Developers E200. :? AFAIK, this is exactly as it currently should work, as it stays on until a switch off. Are you saying yours survived a switch off, and was still set to auto recieve? If not, this is the issue - not being able to set it once, and leave it for good until next time you want it turned off...
Guest v1nn1e Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 a switch off doesn't effect the setting on mine. just tried it now. the setting turns off automatically at some unknown point/time. this annoys me so much, having to check it constantly. When i first got my original spv i used to use the ms newsgroup to get my info as there were ms people replying on it. Is it still running? if so, will have to ask them.
