Guest Lourdes Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Phone was runing kind of slow so turned it off and back on again but it couldn't find the network for ages so wouldn't start up. And when it did finally start everything was back to default settings. However I still had a .wav ringtone stored on the phone, the programs I had installed before were still there (although the unsigned ones wouldn't work as it seems to have become locked again), I still had my SMS messages and I still had my contacts. What the hell? I am guessing that wasn't a hard reset as everything was still there so what happened? And if anybody knows could you tell me how I managed it, maybe something to do with trying to turn it on and off too much whilst it was searching or maybe the loss of network did it? No idea but this is really annoying, esepcailly since I now cannot uninstall anything.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 I think you've just had a partial reset, as it has been termed here. It seems to be a bug of the OS and not much you can do about it. As you say, you will have to app. unlock again. Encouraged me to hard reset though
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 you do not need to hard reset after a partial reset but it is a good way to clean up the phone.
