Guest trashmonkey Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I have found a fault mith my mpx200. I had to do a hard reset recently when i had a problem with a skin. After the hard reset the MMS program was lost, when i try and re-instal it from the cd it installs succesfully but when the phone is rebooted i get the error 'unable to locate the UserInterface file'. I can no longer send or read any SMS or e-mail messages. I have since then done another hard reset and the phone works fine but i cannot intstall or use MMS. Any ideas guys?
Guest ivor biggun Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 No ideas but ive got the same, had to go into settings/remove programmes and uninstall mms software just so i could send sms! Any help would be appreciated
Guest martin Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I remember someone saying they had to reboot the phone after the MMS installation to get it to work. Have you tried that ?
Guest mpd98 Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I had the same problem after a hard reset and re-install. However, I realised that I had installed it on my storage card. When I installed it again on the phone itself, it was fine. And yes, you do need a soft reset once installed. Where did you install the program then? Matt.
Guest ivor biggun Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I installed it on sd card, just trying it on phone now
Guest ivor biggun Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004   Your right, installed it to phone, re-booted and it works a treat! Cheers mate!
Guest mpd98 Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 You're welcome! I suppose it is because of the level of system intergration MMS has. Other (mostly) third-party software installs fine on the SD card. I wonder if the problem that I had and another user had with strange T9 predictions was because I installed the Orange Keyboard update on the SD card rather than the phone? Since doing a hard reset I haven't bothered to re-install it. Does this seem like a reasonable statement?
Guest trashmonkey Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Excellent, thanks for the help. It works fine now. Cheers.
