Guest equis Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Lately with the other numerous quirks the phone has, I dial out and the screen goes to dialing mode but it doesn't connect. The screen that shows you the number you just dialed then the recharge icon appears as if it was plugged in. I press the end call button but at the home screen it still shows a call in progress text! I can navigate thru all the menus but I can't soft reset!! This happened 3 times in a row, I have to yank the battery out and I can't even get into the menu to turn off the phone. Has anyone had this problem I am seriously thinking about returning this phone and getting a replacement but I want to know if this is something inherent to the Mpx?
Guest equis Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 For F**** sake it's still freezing, all I put on the phone was the AlphaFul Decert, and Smartphone notes. Im just gonna hard reset again, oh joy of a Microsoft product. LoL
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 When the phone freezes press and hold the Home button to bring up the quick menu, then you can press back button to return to your homescreen.
Guest equis Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I tired that but at the homescreen it said I was still in a "Call in Progress" it would not let me get into that menu you are mentioning. Today a new problem arose, I got into an ATT deadzone phone had the no signal all day. I met up with some friends also on the ATT network and they had signal. I found that very odd and just attributed the problem to the weak reception of the MPX. I am driving home and it still not finding any signal. Just out of curiosity I check if it is in Airplane mode and it wasn't!! Gah..... I am returing this turd pile for an other MPX hopefuly that one will not have as many problems.
Guest Shuflie Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Could it have been that your friends' phones operate on a different frequency perhaps? Isn't there an 850MHz band in operation in some places in the states?
Guest equis Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 I was thinking that also but I went home and the phone still had the no signal icon. I wonder if after a while of searching and there is no signal if the phone stops searching! Also the Mpx does not recieve reception in the 850-900mhz band as I keep reading on the forums. That feature is locked in the US version of the mpx.
Guest Shuflie Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Don't think there is an 850-900MHz band, its either 850MHz (USA) or 900MHz (Europe). Could it be possible that AT&T operate a dual frequency system (850MHz & 1900MHz) and the 1900MHz service was having problems on that particular day?
