Guest doctorperry Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 :?: Hi everyone - I'm a bit thick with Bluetooth and have only just got my E200 (upgraded from original SPV) - everyone here seems so helpful and knowledgable - I'd really appreciate some help with this. I have tried all sorts to get my E200 to talk to my Nokia CK-1W car kit (I also have a Nokia phone for work - which I have switched off) and have defaulted and reset Car Kit several times. E200 will see Car Kit, but does not recognise it as any sort of headset device - although it does ask for PIN code and will bond with it (eventually!) with Bluetooth set to on or discoverable and with beaming set to enabled. The manual for the car kit tells me that I have tried with "Beam Authentication" (under "BT Settings" on my E200) set to yes or no and that has not seemed to make any difference I've actually tried two different E200 phones as I had a replacement E200 - the original I recieved made a rattling noise when I was on a phone call (through headset or handset) although it was fine for playing MP3 / Video ! I'd be really grateful for any help ! Cheers, Neil
Guest doctorperry Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I have tried to pair my E200 with my Nokia 6310i and they see each other and will pair, but then the E200 tells me that "This bluetooth device supports headset profile, would you like to set it as your bluetooth headset?" I'm going slightly mad here I think.......

Guest doctorperry Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 After a few, increasingly threatening emails to Orange, this is their latest response recieved today;- Dear Neil Thank you for your mail. Guest doctorperry Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Orange had previously had tried to tell me that the Nokia kit wasn't advertised on their web site as being compatible with the E200 - despite me sending them a copy of the page in my email ! Sure enough, when I checked - they had altered the web site (in the space of a day ! And removed any reference to the E200 with the Nokia kit)
Guest hadies Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 ](*,) they make me soooooo MAD / rembers the saved copy of the web page on pc !!!!! I can e-mail you a copy if you want one for complaints etc
Guest doctorperry Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Have spoken to Orange at some length today - at first they flatly refused to discuss anything to do with pairing bluetooth devices. However, after some debate, they did go through the problem with me and checked that everything was set-up properly. Eventually the fella from Orange ran out of ideas and told me that it was due to the Nokia car kit trying to invoke a bluetooth profile that wass not loaded onto the E200's bluetooth chip. Apparantly the E200's bluetooth chip is not flash upgradable, so now I am in the unhappy (?) situation of waiting to hear if the counter-offer Orange can come up with in the way of providing me with a wired car kit solution is good enough to stop me walking and going back to T-Mobile and getting an Ericsson P800 !
Guest hadies Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004  tell them that tere is 2 of us ready to leave !!
Guest AlisonParker Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 I have the same problem! Looking on the web I can find some bits of kit that have bluetooth and voice activation built in. Can anyone tell me if they work?! Thanks
Guest deepak Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 ok guys..... i have the sony ericsson HBH-30 bluetooth car kit which i was using before with my p800...then i used it with the new XDA-2 and now i have the new xphone(spv-2) and it just works fine... before when i had paired my xda 2 with the regular hbh-65 headset and then with the car kit..on an incoming call in the car, it automaticly used to go on to the car bluetooth and when i used to be away from the car then it used to come on my regular headset....this is the setting i am very much habituated with but with this new xphone i have realised that i can only have one headset pprofile at one time and i have to re pair with my regular headset each time i get out of the car.....i am trying to get deeper into this issue and post it as soon as i get the solution...but overall i would say that HBH-30 of sony ericsson as a car kit works pretty cool on my xphone in the car....no problems.. nokia has too many proprietory issues with its bluetooth devices and thats the reason it will never work and will give u hassles always...if u check there site forums ..,half of there regular bluetooth phone dont have headset profile and bluetooth there is just ment for transfers....few have but pairing with them and retaining is a big pain.....so as headset after using all sorts i strongly recomend HBH-65 for regular use and HBH-30 for car....
