Couldn't be called in an emergency - Orange don't care

I don't get it - I've called Orange three times, each to say look here are some recent major problems I've had with your SPV and your network - including my girlfriend (also on Orange) not being able to call me when she needed to because my SPV was, yet again, completely unreachable...

(She can be in the same room as me and call with full bars and my phone goes to vmail. No missed call or anything. Useless. Plus it regularly drops calls too.)

Anyway I said I was going to 3 or to O2, that what I'm interested in is an E200 and some daytime anyone minutes, plus a few texts, say 100 - nothing extreme like 500 - and they're offering me E200 for 39.99 and £30 for doubled-up 200 Anytime minutes. Plus 120 texts for further £8.

I said I wasn't happy, don't feel like being treated fairly as existing customer, asked for PAC code and got it. Got a letter today too, rung them and same deal. No "free 500 texts" like some of you have got, no free E200 like some others, it's just unfair.

What do you have to do? Three people I've spoken to say "That's all their system can come up with" for me, so there's no flexibility.

And I've got a valid reason to be narked with them too, their phone and network continually letting me down...

Anything I can do? Any suggestions?

Transfer the number onto Virgin and then just get a new contract with all the freebees and transfer the number back.

i think 40 quid is a bargain to be honest

its quite simple, Orange re getting wise to peiople demanding a free e200. they dont have to give you an e200 for free just because someone else was lucky enough to get one, sorry, but thats just the way it is

Did you speak to upgrades or retentions?

A month ago upgrades.

Then two times I rang 150 and spoke to "thinking of leaving Orange", they didn't put me through to anyone else so I guess they're retentions?

The last time I called an 0800 customer services number from the letter they sent me and went through their menu system.

i dont know many people who have got a free E200 and a brilliant deal --and the ones that have are spending over £50 a month.

Lots of people have a got A free MPX200 and either doubled minutes or 500 free texts a month but the MPX is not as good a phone on paper.

Ive got both and id honestly say the MPX is better--well its the one i use the most.

good luck anyway

Jonski,

What Rob means is to leave Orange all together and join Virgin with your old Orange number. Then take out a new contract with Orange and bring the number back. He isn't talking about OVP....
