problem copying large files to phone

Im having a problem copying large files 50 megs or more to my sd card. there is plenty of room on the card but when it copies, the progress bar shows activity to about aprox. 50 megs, then all of a sudden the blue progress bars dissapear and it starts copying from the beggining again. I can never finish copying a file because it keeps restarting. anyone have this problem? or know how to fix it?

tbh buy a card reader writer if files larger than 10 megs

a full 120 meg backup of sdcard takes 30 - 50 secs on a card reader

Agree on the card reader, Activsync has never been good at transfering large files to the phone it tends to time out.

I have this problem for large files. I just send them over when I go to bed and in the morning they are copied over, its just a case of being patient. I will be buying a card writer though, its not like they're expensive.

wow. i am impressed. i just brought home a card reader/writer and it flies. It supports usb 2.0 but its really fast over regular usb as well. no more problems transfering large files. thanks

yeah, i use a USB 2.0 card reader and it does wonders.

you know, i would want a IEEE 1394b (FireWire) card reader.... think of the transfer speed!

there's gonna be a new firewire out soon (it was gonna be 1394 b or c)

it has speeds of up to 800 Mbps (i think thats 2x faster than usb 2)

but before that comes out, there are still ones on sale or comes free with a digital camera purchase.

if you live in the US like me, i got mine the day after Thanksgiving for $20. (this is the Dazzle USB 2.0 10-in-1)

When I first tried out playing around with full movie files I found the same problem, I just decided to let it run & found if you let it run through the second pass it should be copied (Unsure what it is doing though)

wait, you mean transfer files directly to the phone w/ an SD in it? i think the best thing to do, like above, is to get a USB 2.0 card reader. the phone just transfers too slow...like 40Mbps? for big files its a long wait and might corrupt it.
