Guest midnight Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 it runs ridge racer java psone style at about 4fps (not smooth at all), using extremely low poly environments, to me it looks nasty, but hey, they have it, we dont :lol: ms should be going out and tempting some big games developers onto the ms smartphone platform, but they have admitted themselves, currently they are concentrating on the business market, and will reach out from there over the next few years until its a true mass market platform. to be honest though, if i wanna see ridge racer, i wanna see proper as good as psone ridge racer, and i can wait for 3d acceleration and higher resolutions for that to happen :D

Guest midnight Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 yeh, thats for java phones, and as you can see, around 4fps, making its unplayable, ridge racer was smoooooooooth, racing games need around 20fps to be proper playable (may get away with 12-15fps on phones), and also you can see theyve cut the poly count right down, with extremely low res textures, hardly surprising, and only way they could make it work (currently) oh, and just noticed yer sig, is that Starwars? :lol:

I read something about that open gl for phones thing comming to the ms smartphones too... if that is so we can start programming in 3d with a bit more ease..... yeah it is but WHICH SONG .... :lol: hahaha
Guest midnight Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 that java game wont run on the spv though will it ;P so 4fps (its actually slightly higher than that, but its far from smooth) on the gx30. All games on the MS Smartphone should run at least at 10fps, any less and they become jerky and unplayable. and the tune is the Imperial March or whatever its called, i'm a Star Wars fan, just not a huge Star Wars fan (the original 3 where classics, the latest are just standard sci-fi fodder) :lol:
