Help! Headset Mode sticking (original SPV)

Is this a software or hardware problem?

I have tried cleaning the socket with no joy but eventually it resets & resets my profile?

I have upgraded to 1.6 but feel it might be still a faulty headset socket?

Any help apreciated!

Kind Regards

Si

It's a hardware problem. You can sometimes sort it by fiddling in the socket with the headphone jack, but this can also lead to the end of the jack becoming stuck in the socket, which they sometimes don't allow for warranty. Even if you do fix it, it's far more likely to happen again once it's happened once.

A quick search will give you more informatiion.

cheers for that mail,

I suppose something had to give on such a great phone....?!

Its like having a cheap motherboard!

Im compitent in electronics but this little baby is way too fiddly to be bothered with, unless the head jack is modular (like Nokia) which will make it easier to replace (God i love that Nokia 3310 design.....you can drop the thing downstairs, in the bath and it still works! And replacing bits are as easy as playing with lego!).

I bet this phone isnt too modular eh? I got to admit, i havent opened this baby yet!

But cant get an upgrade till May! .....god i want the SPV E200 now!

Cheers!

Half a cocktail stick carried in the wallet will sort this out most times i find..

It happens to me alot and i use the headphones everyday - but the stick wins each time.

but the stick wins each time.

For now

Normally this ends up being a perminant feature and the only way to fix it is to send the phone off for repair.

The best advice is to stop using the headset (small sacrifice if you do not have warranty)
