Guest madds Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Hi all, i had the chance to play for a few days with a e200 (developers edition), but i got very disapointed with the performance, battery life and the bugs. And i sold it, and got the chance to buy a 8080 new in box. I will make a resume of the main diferences: The 8080 is way faster than the e200, opening menus and programs. The battery last alot more on the 8080 than it lasted on my e200. My e200 used to hang with mine "james brown - i feel good" ringtone, and that doesn't happen now in the 8080. The default homescreen is way better since it allows a one-click to open the mms composer (arcsoft). The camera and video recorder perform the same way. There is a nice folder called system management that includes file manager, space maker and task manager. If i press "*" writting a sms i can change the language of t9 (that's a great feature for me since i work with people from all over the world). Of course the qtek rom has some bugs, but it's way better than the orange one. I've always carried my pocket pc's around but now they stay at home/office. Great job qtek. my OS version is: Version 4.20.0 (build 13291) radio version 1.10.00 rom update version: -> operator: 1.7.10.2 -> manufacturer: 1.7.10.2 If you want adicional comments on this feel free to ask
Guest v1nn1e Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Someone should create a chart with all available roms from different manufacturers available for the different smartphones out. I would definately change my ROM to anothers if they offered a better stable one. If they are already available for me to change, where do i get them from?
Guest dvl Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 wondering... the E200 and Qtek 8080 are the same phones arn't they (hardware), only the rom differs... so if we get a qtek rom the simlock should be gone too right? or is the simlock hardware controlled? i doubt that btw Greeetzzz DvL
Guest aristoBrat Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 It seems to me like the SIM lock is hardware related. People who upgraded to the latest Orange SPV/e100 ROM saw no effect on the SIM lock -- if it was locked before, it was locked after ... if it was unlocked before, it was unlocked after.
Guest dvl Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 talking about qtek 8080 rom.. seems logical.. if you update to qtek rom it should be uunlocked. but hey who am i hehe
