Guest Rolfe_WJ_2 Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Ok, Ive just had a partial reset too, and I have had a little look and I can see so have a lotta other people. Should I hard reset the phone? ( if so... how.. power and memo record buttons? ) If not... I re-application unlocked the phone, and now my applications and stuff are working again, do I need to re-install the mpx200 speedtweaks? ( those two little cabs ) I also didnt need to use the jmms workaround to get homescreens looking unjumbled. I am also concerned that nothing appears on my 'remove programs' but everthing, including caller ID, works ok. Ive not tried MMS or e-mail yet tho... oh...as an aside, how do I go about keeping the light on during video playback using Windows Media player 9? Cheers!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Hard Reset is generally recomended after a partial reset but not always needed. As for doing a Hard Reset power off the phone press and hold the blue action button and power on, then follow the on-screen instructions
Guest Rolfe_WJ_2 Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 ha! the super awarner has answered himself! how do you do sir! seeing as my phone is working just fine right now, I have decided to leave it as it is... a hard reset isnt hard too, and I'll do that when its deffo required! god bless ta guv'nor!
Guest phonesmarts Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 a hard reset isn't too hard to do, but the fact that it takes a while (-is this normal?) to clear and after the reset, everything seems to slow down until you soft reset it.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 It does take a while to Hard Reset (SPV used to have different speeds depening on updates) but also with rebooting the phone after as it has to rewrite the IPSM.
