help with media files

i have converted dvd of peter kay live to run on wmp but using my program i only got 35 mins converted but the good thing it is only 20 mb so 256mb card is still empty, the problem is i would like to use divx movies i have aswell as dvd and to be able to view whole film, have got all players installed on e200 so i just need help on how to resize and convert.
