Guest gemmell Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 Has anyone figured out if it is possible to get the phone to auto connect to activesync via bluetooth? I want to be able to get my phone to automatically connect to activesync on my desktop when the devices are within bluetooth range (10m). I am constantly getting up from my desk and moving around, it would be great if I didn't have to initiate the connection manually.
Guest gemmell Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 It may be possible to write an application that periodically tells activesync to connect via bluetooth. If the devices are in range then it would connect, if not, bad luck, try again later. The app could have a defined schedule and time window so that it is not wasting battery power when you are not going to be anywhere near your PC. Does anyone know how to do this?
Guest babyoil1_2000 Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 You should find that Windows XP and using ActiveSync 3.7.1 will allow you to automatically connect with your bluetooth device and SPV. What you should do is set the phone to "Discoverable" and you should be able to use the phone's ActiveSync to send or receive files. I know this works because I have a Class 1 dongle and am able to transfer and receive files from another room in my house. This could be down to the class of your bluetooth dongle, I don't know!?!
Guest gemmell Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I CAN get my phone to connect to activesync via bluetooth, but I have to manually reinitiate the connection every time I return to my desk. I would like this reconnect to be automated.
