Just ordered my *unlocked* SPV E200 off of EBAY.CO.UK

And it will be coming to Los Angeles, California very soon! I had him end the auction at 155 UK pounds (about $311.00 USD)

One question...the guy I bought it from said that he had it network unlocked from his buddy that works at the cellphone store he bought it from (im assuming Orange store?).

When it is network unlocked, does that mean it is permanently unlocked like the original SPV was? I don't want it to arrive here, put my ATT sim card in and have it say "please enter code".

I wonder if this E200 will buzz...maybe it won't cuz its in the U.S.??

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM 8)

Not sure I can answer your question...

But I'm VERY curious as to how anyone has a network unlocked E200 handset anyway, unless it is something like a developer phone.

Because as far as i am aware, this is not yet possible.

Having said that, peekie recently mentioned this happening too, so have we finally cracked it folks?

If so, I would have thought it was absolutely majot news and would be the talk of the site...?

It can be OFFICIALLY unlocked, that is, through Orange if you pay them. Or, apparently in my case, the guy selling it has a friend that works at a cellphone place.

I'm assuming its been officially unlocked, not cracked/hacked unlocked.

hehehe, good luck buddy. the only shop i know that sells network unlocked e200's is ora - for developers. and the price is way above the one you've paid. let us know if it turns out to be a good deal for you!

Orange do it?

the U.S. (AT&T). I'm still currently using an original SPV i won off ebay a

well looks ok as far as i can tell. just two points that would have stopped me from buying: he has no feedback at all and i never heard about unlocked e200's for that less money.

let us know how it worked out at the end, ok?

cheers, lutz

Well, the bidding was actually going way up, but this was his first time using Ebay and I emailed and asked if he would close the auction for a set price.

He said make me an offer, i said 140 pounds and he said "how bout 155" and i agreed. So then i told him how to close an auction on Ebay.

The bidding had actually gone up to over 200 pounds by the time he ended up closing it...and it still had 4 days left. (muahhahaha). I trusted him because I just got an OK feeling. And it seems there are less corrupt UK people than what we have here in the U.S.

Will let you guys know how everything works out.
