Guest anselm Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Now this is a pain. Woke up this morning to find that my SPV had somehow kinda reset itself. All my contacts and software seem to still be there - at least on my SD card - but the homescreen had reset to that lovely camper Van picture and layout(!) and worse of all my SPV seems to have re-locked itself so many of my applications/utilities wont run any more becasue they are "not autheniticated" I still seem to be able to reset my favorite skins and I haven't lost any contacts or stored mail but I would like to know what has happend  Importantly, will I have to go through the process of getting Orange to unlock my phone again? Any help would be great. ta
Guest kelv23 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 if you want the apps to work again you will have to do the application unlock again.if you dont know where to get the application unlock search round these forums the link should be there,it doesn't take long maybe 5 mins
Guest anselm Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 cheers for that. Any idea why this might have happend?
Guest kelv23 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Not sure to be honest,I'm not as knowledgeable on these things as some of the people in here but the SPV does have some quirky things that happen to it from time to time although I'm yet to experience any myself. Did you find the OTA unlock address? if not I'll find it for you.
Guest James Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 spvs are known to reset themselves for no real reason. its a kind of backup feature so when the phone gets a problem it fixes itself so it can still be used as a phone. for the unlock link just click on OTA Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest anselm Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I've managed to get it unlocked again via the web site - much quicker than the first time I did it! Just noticed that the sodding thing also reset my user info and all my app registartions codes  and this after me telling my brother in law that smartphones don't crash all the time and that I had not had any trouble with mine :?
