GPRS issues in London?

Recommended Posts

Are there any other MS smartphone users in London having some serious problems logging into MSN messenger and/or pocket internet explorer?

I have not been able to use any GPRS applications for the last 2 days.. bloody irritating!

O GPRS in London sucks ass big time.

However it's been limping along as usual for me for the past few days.

When I have problems connecting (which is most of the time) I find this usually persuades it to connect:

1) Click a link and (this is the key thing) wait for the connection to fail. Sometimes it takes ages but eventually you get a connection error message.

2) Go back and click the link again, it usually connects second time.

If that doesn't work, restart the radio stack (Airplane Mode OFF then Airplane Mode ON; or possibly Radio OFF then Radio ON, depending on what firmware you're running).

I run iMate 1.5 firmware and it keeps the GPRS connection alive for much, much longer than the O 1.5 firmware that came on my E100, which helps a lot as the main problem is with connecting.

I'm not bothering with O 1.6 firmware, from what I hear on here it's not worth it. Maybe they'll get it right with 1.7. Right now I'm getting two days' battery life out of my phone so I'm pretty happy...

GPRS in central London is still not functioning.

I had no access yesterday and none today.

Have tried accessing GPRS services from both SPV and e200SPV.

WTF?

I've had no GPRS here in Scarborough for the last few days: on a SPV and an E200 :-(

I'm in Ealing, West London, and haven't had a problem since the update.
