Guest blauwkonijn Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I read this article about a new Motorola phone based on MS 2003. No not the MPx220 but it's called A630 so far! Very nice one! "The phone incorporates a camera, external display, and external keypad - and flips open horizontally to reveal a keyboard (in a manner very reminiscent of a Nokia Communicator)" For the pictures look at the link below; http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page563.html
Guest Vector Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 This most likely isn't a MS Smartphone... As Midnight pinted out in IRC, Microsoft have a criteria for smartphones, for screen size and the buttons, and this phone has no back, home buttons, and the screen would have to be in landscape mode. It may be running CE.net tho
Guest Taoski Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 See details (and piccies) here at Coolsmartphone: http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?op...fedecee318902c7 Not a smartphone by the looks of it..... and blinkin ugly too! Guest midnight Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 looks like a follow up to the Motorola Timeport P935 Personal Interactive Communicator to me  whichever, this definitely isnt an MS Smartphone, one of the main reasons is, MS has spent ages getting the useability right, from the buttons you use on the keypad, to the contact selection, with this phone, contact selection is limited to the very small front display, and the screen is landscape inside, it doesnt have any softkeys, home or back buttons, all of which are part of the MS requirements to run MS Smarthone software.
Guest peekie Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 if that was a new smart phone i would say its dam ugly yuk motorola are the best makers in clam shells ( the first as well ) this well is not a phone for me its one way to kill the smartphone if it were one ,even the n***a,s make ugly phones as well and they DONT sell
Guest morpheus2702 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Does the 'A' designation mean that the phone is part of Moto's 3G offering? Just wondering if anyone had any information or informed speculation on how/when we might see the pairing of a Microsoft OS and a 3G phone? I mean, Motorola were using Symbian on their touchscreen 3G handset (A920 I think) - now they've split from Symbian, what's the next step?
Guest zeta101 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 i think its quite nice, i like the design, might be better if the outer casing was aluminium or something other than that plastic. If it will probably be running CE.net, whats that OS like? what apps can u use with it etc?
