Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 How can you do a hard reset on the e200
Guest martin Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Just click on the words hard reset for instructions. BTW did you get it app unlocked ? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 that i did martin, but i had to go out and buy a spv e200 to do it. For some reason i was able to do it with the e200 but could not with the e100. STRANGE. I managed to do a hard reset and now find that the phone is running very slow, is there some reason for this and is there a solution
Guest martin Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Nope. It should not be running slow once it's fully booted up. Try a reboot. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 ive just tried one and the very same, ive been on to orange and for some reason they think that it is the battery, who am i to argue!!!
Guest martin Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Have you got a Task Manager loaded ? You should be able to check your system info including battery status. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 No i cant get in, is there any way that i can download the rom version to my phone and reinstall it!!!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 At the moment there is not a ROM available for download for the E200
Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 this is not looking good, i think i will take the phone back to orange. I cant keep doing this every time it decides to crash!!!!!!!!!
Guest martin Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 This is not something that usually happens - very strange. I would do another hard reset and hope that it sorts itself out second time round. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest jo12 Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 done it and still nothing, it is like it is running at 1/10th the speed, if not slower
Guest jo12 Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 well i finally managed to get into the task manager, and found that the battery is fine and there are no programs running. I phoned orange with these facts and they wont accept that it could be that the phone is faulty. They are sending a report to the technical dept and that will take about 2 weeks, BA HUMBUG!!!! if you think that im sitting around waiting for someone to tell me that the phone is faulty, they can have the phone and contract back. This is not a good customer relations exersize, ive only had the phone for 3 days. Am i right or wrong?????????????????????????
Guest bikespod Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 You are right. There is a rash of posts relating to poor customer support from orange with regard to faulty E200's. If you go to the thinking of leaving section or retentions as they are also known, you should get somewhere. I wrote a letter complaining about all sorts of problems with the 4 E200's i've had, and the appalling turn around of tech supp. That was on the 29th of jan and i haven't even had an aknowledgement letter. Useless :!:
Guest martin Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Jo 2 weeks for tech support - WOW. The phone is obviously faulty and it's possibly the software that has become corrupted. You've been very unlucky because this does not happen very often. If you had an E100 you could run the software update again but that option is not available on the E200  If i was you I would try CS again and see if you can speak to someone who can help. You right 2 weeks is not good enough. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest jo12 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 NEW PHONE COMING TOMORROW MORNING. THEY FINALY AGREED THAT IT WAS FAULTY, THANKS TO ALL, they arent that bad after all, and i was very calm about the whole thing
Guest jo12 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 new phone coming tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 Is the "1234" reset under Configurations on the e200 effectively a Hard Reset?
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 Is the "1234" reset under Configurations on the e200 effectively a http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset? Good question, I'd like to know the answer to that!
Guest bikespod Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 as far as i'm aware, yes this is exactly the same as a hard reset, restoring factory settings and rebooting the IPSM or storage as it is now known. i have done this when swapping for replacement handsets.Posted from my SmartPhone!
