GPRS at home AND abroad?

I've got my SPV set up to access Internet via GPRS and WAP via orange gateways in UK. No problems (sort of!)

When I travel to Spain, obviously I need to change all the settings if I want to connect to the Internet.

Is it possible to have more than 1 set of settings, or do I have to manually change them all (risky business) each time I move from country to country?

Btw - anyone know the settings for Amena?

It depends if you are roaming on their network (using an Orange SIM).

If orange has a roaming agreement set up with the foreign network then you can access GPRS as normal using APN orangeinternet although this is subject to GPRS roaming charges (per MB) which can be quite expensive. Also you MUST get Orange to activate GPRS roaming on your account otherwise you will be denied access.

Alternatively you can buy a local SIM from the foreign network and change the SPV GPRS settings to their own Access Point Name.

cheers martin

fyi: i've just spoken to orange and got following info:

no special gprs roaming to be enabled (just normal roaming)

not every network abroad supports gprs (eg spain: out of 3 or 4 available networks, only movistar supports gprs - at least for us roamers...)

it may cost an absolute fortune - gprs with movistar would cost me £10 per mb - gulp

bye
