Guest Pulse Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 How long did you charge your phone for, the first time? And who gets the best battery life?
Guest mcwarre Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 16 hours initial charge and look here. for battery results...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 welcome to the site  I only charged mine for 4 hours as I was impatient  but remember to do nice long charges once in a while and do not let the battery fully drain.
Guest Pulse Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I thought it was a better idea to let a battery totally discharge before charging again?
Guest phonesmarts Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 i charged mine for a full 24 hours and its getting good batt life. i did a full discharge after a 24 charge... i dont know if that affected it, but im getting at least 3 days with talk time.
Guest mcwarre Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 I thought it was a better idea to let a battery totally discharge before charging again? Not for the MPx battery a Li-Ion. Just full charges no complete discharges....
Guest mike-oh Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 err ok, i had bad battery life, (i had battery warning after a 15min call). Possibly to do with my impatience when i first got it and repeatedly taking it off charge to show people how damn cool it was. I left it over night with the screen on (not backlight) to fully discharge it. Then recharged it till it stopped charging the next day. Made a twenty min call the other day and it was fine! I think it's cured now!
Guest verbetex Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 I only charged mine for about 2, maybe 3 hours when I first got it (had a lecture to go to and friends to show phone off to!) As would be expected, it didn't last that long the first time, but since then, I've done full charges, and it's on and off the docking station all the time, and I've had no problem with battery life, it easily lasts till I put it on the charger again.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 This must be one of my most frequent posts, but, DO NOT fully discharge your battery as you will shorten it's life and damage it. Li-ion batteries have an internal circuitry and can be damaged from a full discharge. Also Li-ion have a less pronounced memory loss un-like Ni-cd
Guest mike-oh Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Surely it's nigh on impossible to FULLY discharge the battery without doing something daft like short circuiting it, which of course will knacker it. If you leave the phone with just the screen left on the juice will trickle out slowly until the phone thinks enough really is enough and switches off. Having done what i mentioned earlier i haven't charged my phone for 2nights now, had a few phone calls, sent a few texts, played a little and it's on 67% which is much better than before!
