Guest peekie Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 being fed up with the orange pouch for my E200 i went to my local orange shop to see if there was a better sort i can buy ,i was told no and that there would not be one and shown an internal email over the e300 coming in march.sadly no pictures, only it has a built in camera ,bluetooth so i cannot say if it could be that half version the spv everyone is talking about. i will pester them for more info and let everyone know ,has anyone on the uk side heard of this?????
Guest Vector Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 I haven't heard about E300 before  but by telling you it has built in cam and bluetooth, it doesn't make it any different to E200 :D
Guest bikespod Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 try the krusells case for the e100, you can get them on ebay for about a tenner. they are a tight fit, but good quality and do a good job of protecting your blower.
Guest peekie Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 cheers for that mate as the old spv case is driving me mad
Guest lowbug Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 It would seem the E300 is on it's way.. http://www.silicon.com/networks/mobile/0,3...11036071,00.htm
Guest Jabbsy Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 It would seem the E300 is on it's way.. http://www.silicon.com/networks/mobile/0,3...11036071,00.htm I think that article is referring to the e200 because if you look at the date it was posted it was around the time that the e200 was released. And the reference to "E300" in that artice is refering to the price of the handset being 300 Euros, not the model of the phone :)
Guest peekie Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 the e300 as it will be known is only an e200 with the spv version1 cover as seen in other postings ,its due here in holland in mid march and could explain why the original spv which was on sale her until december vanished over night from all the orange shops, should be a picture in the next orange nl magazine which i will scan and post if its not on the forum
Guest londonlad Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 so it has no internal difference in hardware like a 200mhz processor or more ram? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest midnight Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 its the same as the qtek 8060, can see pictures here
Guest peekie Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 yep thats the phone midnight i think it will make the people who wanted the 8 way joypad happier as the e200 does not and have the best from both versions ???
Guest londonlad Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 im one of those people that wanted an 8 way pad, ive still got 7 days left to give the e200 back... no chance! its too ugly and im just to cool for it 8)
Guest R4N6ER5-RE4DY Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 There must be something new on the way, Orange UK are giving the e200 away now for the price of your signature on a contract.
Guest peekie Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004  thats always a sign of something new to come
Guest Machineman Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 The E300 you are all talking about is proberly the QTek 2020 that will be in the Orange store soon in NL. (Info from orange internal) This is a Pocket PC based smartphone so an completely different design than the SPV, E100 and E200 that we know till now. See here for the dutch users Greetzzz Machineman
Guest peekie Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 nope thats not the one i know in holland we change the names of things but on all spv's the name remains the same as the uk ect, will see if i can get more info on the phone
Guest Machineman Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004  Hi, I just got some extra information @ Orange :) It is true that orange is busy with an E300 BUT no more than that. They are affraid to release it to soon (in NL) becouse the E100, E200 and the E300 would all be released in 1,5 year. They are afraid to get complains with the costumers in the NL. @ least that is what they told me :? I don't think so I think that the selling of the rest parts of the stock with E100s and E200s would go to slow and will not finish and that that is the real reason to hold down the proces of the E300. Further Specs are not availebe @ the moment. Greetzzz Machineman
Guest egghead101 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Lets not go nuts on this, the SPVs we have need fixing first!!!! Patch update for the e200 would be nice. For me to even consider buying another flakey spv it would need to have a better battery, true multiple email support and strong bluetooth. i don't care if the phone was slighty bigger as long as the battery lasted longer than a phone call.
Guest peekie Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 problem really for orange nl is that people like yourself can read on a site or see a phone on a website and have then to release it ,they dont really have much say if the mother orange puts out the e300 nl has to follow and it gives us dutch something to moan about apart from that dam euro
Guest AndyMac Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 So what ever happened to the SPV 2020, ie Oranges answer to the XDA-II ? Has it falen by the way-side? :) http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4277.html
Guest Vector Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 So what ever happened to the SPV 2020, ie Oranges answer to the XDA-II ? Has it falen by the way-side? :D  http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4277.html It has been released by Orange UK for business users only and is called the "SPV M1000", there is a thread about it in the News forum :)
Guest RussellH Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I spoke to Orange Customer services yesterday to ask about updates to the E200. The chap there said they had no information about any updates, though they were aware of a number of faults that needed to be addressed. He highlighted the joystick being 4/5-way only and the e-mail polling bug. He suggested however that I wait for a new device being launched by Orange around June. He said it would be an Orange version of the Ipaq. He said the specifications of this would be better than the E200, but couldn't tell me any more. Could this be the SPV2020 or something new?
Guest Vector Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 hmm, there is a new ipaq ppc phone being made, maybe that's what he meant? :)
