n00b with spv e200

hi all..i had a handspring treo and sold it to get the spv e200...i have some questions for u:

1: can i use any other sims except orange? i will need to do this coz i will be in greece during the summer and i will need to use a greek gsm carrier.

2: mp3 ringtones? i heard that i can use wavs..but how about mp3s? if yes plz tell me how? and what are the file restrictions (for both wav and mp3 or anything else)

3: if i want to listen to some mp3s how do i copy them to my spv?

4: what is the application protection? i have downloaded smartweak and it told me to run a prog called disable security from my phone but i cant find the link anywhere

4: and how do i install themes?

5: any gameboy emus or other old console emus around?

1. No, I don't believe you can SIM-unlock the E200 so you're stuck with Orange

2. No, you can't use MP3s as rintones though you can convert them to WAVs - do a search of the forum, there's an excellent tutorila thread. WAVs need to be in this format - PCM 22,050 Hz, 8 Bit, Mono but MIDIs I'm not sure about. They all seem to be working for me.

3. Copy them from your PC via ActiveSynch or a card reader with the USB cable.

4. Application protection is to stop you installing dodgy software and crashing the phone. Application unlocking can be easily done from the Orange developers site - click on OTA

5. Go to monolithix.org but don't use stolen ROMs

...and you don't need any new firmware. In fact there isn't an upgrade yet but it's coming :wink:

and btw when i push the button on the hands free the call doesnt seem to end..is there a fix for this?

to send SMS messages fro your PC, use SendSMS program.

(you must install .net framefork on the PC and have a app unlocked phone)

you can manage the contacts using outlook when you sync your phone
