Just bought my E200, so waiting for it to charge. Just want to see what people's opinions are for a few things:

1. How long should I charge the battery for the first charge?

2. How long should I charge the battery on the next charges?

3. Is it better to discharge the battery fully or charge it before it dies?

4. What comes in the box? I had an empty bag, which has slightly concerned me.

5. Can I use the phone while it's charging on the first charge, or is it better for battery life to leave it charging turned off?

1, 4 hours minimum (the longer the better)

2, Watch the indicator as that tells you, otherwise use the excellent

Task Manager

3, NEVER try to fully discharge a Li-ion battery as you can damage it by doing so.

4, No idea as I don't have one :)

because it uses a lithium-ion battery, never fully discharge it, they can become damaged (contrary to common beliefs).

for the first charge, let it charge fully from whatever is in it when u get it, until the phone stops charging (i.e. battery meter comes back even when plugged into charger, instead of the chargin logo).

Run the phone until it approahces the last battery bar out of 4 (approx 25-30% charge)

Charge the fone fully as in step 1

repeat this a few times (2 or 3)

after this, dont worry abotuthe battery at all, li-ion LIKES trickle charging, my battery is usually at 3 out of 4 bars at the end of a days use (mpx200), but i always charge anyway, it DOES NO HARM.

you WILL harm the battery by totally discharging, altho this was not the case with older batteries, it is with li-ion, they dont suffer from "memory" problems linked to not taking a full charge, altho the li-ion battery life cycle is shorter than older batteries (which are cared for).

Anyone know what will, and what wont work on the E200 without application unlocking? I want to run either PocketMPV or PocketTV, and maybe a few apps/games for now.

Mine too, but it appeared to be fully charged in the morning! Now the light stays on during charging......
