Anyone know reasons it would do this? When I try to play it on media player, it plays about 0.5 seconds of the sound, but cant do owt else. No picture is shown. On DivX player, it says this:

Anyone got any ideas? :) Might take the E200 back if I cant even use this feature.

It looks like you need a M-JPEG/MJPG/MJPEG (different writings are used) video codec on your desktop to view the movies you made with your phone. I had a related problem when I wanted to view movies I made with a Canon Ixus video and still camera. Now I'm using the Morgan Multimedia MJPEG Codec which I know works.

ah the dreaded fourcc thingy. If you ever get a four cc error then check out here to try and find the required codec :

http://www.fourcc.org

You need the MJPG one, and Hees is right the morgan Mulitmedia have it:

http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/

But its only a 60 day trial then you have to pay. Ive googled for a free mjpg codec and cant seem to find one...since this problem isnt common with e200 users they must all have the codec in some form, so just wait for someone to post about it! until then yuou can use the morgan one for 60 days

As ALL the avi's I record on my E200 open fine in either Windows Media Player, or Quicktime, you could simple change the file association for .avi files to either of those, and it should work.

Try a limited test first and see, before going the whole hog...

Right click on one the the E200's .avi files on your PC, and choose "Open With" instead of just "Open" (Sometimes you need to hold the Shift key as you Right Click to get the "Open With" option).

Then select either Windows Media Player 9, or Quicktime (the player part is a free download).

And the file will attempt to play in that Player.

If it works, you know your DivX player is the problem, AND you can go ahead and set the file association permanently to one of the players that do work...
