Canary Screen

I tried to update my SPV using the update 1.6 from the orange website. When updating the update froze at 98% erasing of the system rom. Now I cannot power on the phone at all, I cannot even get to the canary screen by holding down the record button and powering on.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this or who can fix this. I bought the phone in jan 2003 off a friend who got it on his contract, but didnt want it, I just took out a new contract with orange 2 months ago and was going to use it on that. Will orange repair it on their insurance plan?

Any help would be much appreciated.

When you say froze how long did you leave it?

Problem is as the update had almost completed the erase part of the phone

and you have now tried to power onoff the phone, you have a nice

looking paperweight :)

As you did not buy the phone from Orange it is unlikely that you will be able to get it repaired unless you have managed to get the phone listed under your Orange care insurance.

The only other option is to send the phone off to Hays for repair, Orange will be able to give you the nuber to call but the repair may

not be cheap and wou could be without your phone for around two weeks.
