Guest nonotechno Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 My SD card Properties within Smart Explorer has the "Temporary" box ticked. Is this the reason I'm having problems formatting the new card and why I cannot copy files across to the new card? ( The lock tab on the side of the disk is not on) If so how can I change it???? :?: :?: :?: If not, does anyone know why I may keep getting the "Error formatting card" message???
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 I seem to have problems with SD cards from time to time but I use Task Manager (from Binarys) to format the card, and this sorts out my problems every time :)
Guest nonotechno Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 I've tried using Task Manager but I keep getting "Error formatting card" message. Any ideas?
Guest pyke Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 I've tried using http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=7065>Task Manager but I keep getting "Error formatting card" message. Any ideas? some of your files in the SD card might be marked as "read only" that's why task manager refuses to format it. this happened to me and what i did was to delete the contents of the sd card via active sync.and when the sd card was already empty, that's when task manager was able to format it.hope this helps.
