Guest TSCRYPTO Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Is this cause for concern? With my old SPV, once a web page had fully loaded the GPRS connection was terminated automatically, so that I could browse the page without continually running up GPRS charges. With the E200, the GPRS remains on once the page has fully loaded. Does this mean that I am being charged (ie is there any data transfer after a page is fully loaded) for periods of inactivity while I am reading a page? Disconnecting the GPRS via the home button is a solution, but I'd rather the connection be terminated once the pages is loaded. Any ideas? Cheers tSc
Guest mattscholey Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 GPRS is charged per megabyte not per minute, so it doesn't matter how long you are connected for, just how much data you download. It is not costing you a penny staying connected to GPRS after the web page has downloaded. Matt
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Cheers Matt - I was just wondering there was still data moving back and fwd after the page was loaded, but if there's not, then alls well and good. Thanks
Guest mattscholey Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 There shouldn't be. If theres no windows flag in the top-right corner of the web page, then it means that the page is fully loaded. You can always press the red hang up button on any screen to end a GPRS call. Matt
