Guest equis Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 So I have followed the instructions that came with the CD including adding an intializiation string and adding the *99# to the phone number. The phone just refuses to work correctly, I get to the screen "Verifying User Name and Password" and the phone tells the laptop there is no dial tone. What the fudge is wrong with this phone I then tried it on my desktop, same problem so I uninstalled the modem physically from the desktop, and the same problem persists. Anyone have any suggestions or is this happening because I need to use the Mmode internet connection??????
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Just checking what OS do you have on your laptop and desktop? as the modem will only work on XP and Win2k.
Guest equis Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 I have Windows XP both on my Laptop and Desktop. Man just an other MPX quirk I guess ... blah.. still no connection though :)
Guest Motorola veteran user Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 The modem works as it does try and tells you different things, and it does only what the computer tells it to do, I had a long fight with it, and the solution was to check every setting and initialization string, one wrong . or " or , or a letter, and it tells you all this things, the modem is not accurate when "complaining", but if you set it up well, it should work...
Guest Doomstalk Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Make sure that you've got the right init string for your carrier. For example, with T-Mobile mine is: "+CGDCONT=1,"IP","","internet2.voicestream.com",0,0". Don't remember what AT&T/Cingular's is, but if I recall it's rather different.
Guest XiSt3nCe Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 You should try and uncheck "Wait for dial tone before dialing" In "Phone and modem options" If you have WM5 on your smartphone by some chance; You will need the WM5 modem driver.
Guest m1.carson Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Equis has an i900 not an MPx200 ! ! maybe the wrong forum to ask ?
