Active Sync not recognizing phone

I'm using active sync 3.7.1 for my mpx200, and it has been working fine for the past few months I have had the phone. Recently, it stopped recognizing the phone, only saying "guest" was connected. I removed and then reinstalled the software, and it's still doing it, any ideas on what i can do?

I wouldn't normally try to guess at something like this, but as you've had no replies, I wonder if you could try deleteing all the partnerships from the phone, removing the phone, then connecting it again.

This would hopefully then bring up the option to partner the phone with your pc again, instead of simply using a guest partnership.

Hope this helps, hope you get it sorted :)

Something which usually works when this problem occurs is to take the USB cable out of the slot it is currently plugged into and plug it into a different USB slot. New hardware will be detected and you can then set-up a new partnership.

i've just experienced this. heres what i done:

disconnect usb phone + cradle from pc

open active sync

goto file, connection settings, then UNCHECK box "allow usb connection"

close active sync.

restart active sync

goto file, connection settings, then CHECK box "allow usb connection"

on your phone (still not in usb) go in active sync, options, pc settings

CHECK box "automatically start sync.."

put phone in cradle + usb. should connect.

as i have orange back up i only need to connect as a guest (file transfers + downloads)... hey i'm still learning!

Well, i just tried all that- still nothing. The E100 was replaced today, so that can't be bust; cradle has worked in past, so i suspect that's ok.

Any ideas?

Try unplugging all other USB devices...mine will not work with the ASDL modem plugged in!!

This has happened to me a few time - normally when the computer has crashed so something. Anyway, the way I seem to make it work is but using a different device name - eg first time I sync-ed I called device SPV, then it didn't work so I called it PaddySPV, etc. I seem to have to do this every so often and it seems the easiest way. Nothing gets lost or damaged as the info on the actual phone and computer has remained the same.

This might help?
