Guest schizophonic Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004  The 'joypad' in the middle doesn't as function as well as it use to. It works fine when scrolling up and its hard to scroll down and pushing the botton in. What can i do now? Return it to Carphone warehouse and say i still have my 12 months warrenty and they 'should' replace it. Or contact Orange directy? What do i do first?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 It depends if you have Orange care or not, otherwise you may be without the phone for a while :? Moved to HTC Voyager (E200 / O2 XPhone / QTek 8080) section
Guest newquay_kev Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I'd take it to your supplier (CW) as a first port of call, you may get a quicker resolution to the problem. They also may of course just refer yo to Orange, but is worth a try. With respect to the joystick I've been wondering from day 1 just how reliable it will be in the long term. I've had no problems with it yet, but yet my phone's only a month old... We'll have to wait and see.
Guest schizophonic Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Orange care or not, doesn't all phones come with 12 months garentee? I'm up at uni right now and my reciept is at my home. So i need to wait till thursdays till i know :x So if i return it to CW on thursday will they give me a replacement straigth away? I'll be pissed if they don't  And if i choose the orange care route? Get it now and wait about a week and then report it to orange they they will spend a replacement straigth away?
Guest newquay_kev Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 One would assume that within the first 12 months you would get a quick replacement - this is why I suggested you visit CW first. With Orange you definately will get a replacement for a faulty unit if its within guarantee - but it might take a while. I've not got personal experience of this but I know a man who has. Orange Care apparently guarantees you get a replacement within 24 hours. Depends how long you are prepared to be wthout your phone I guess... Let us know how you get on!!
Guest schizophonic Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 strangly the 'joypad' down, seems to be fine now  but the button when you push it in is still a little stiff. I ain't too bothered now, but when i get back home tomorrow. I'll ask CW about the replacment and how long will it take and so forth. But what ever out come i'll let you know :)
