Guest jonny_z_man Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 i have an SPV that is locked on to headset mode. can anyone tell me how i can rectify this problem?? thanks in advance, jon
Guest Taoski Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I use a cocktail stick cut in half to push slowly and gently into the headset socket. This releases the switch and it reverts to a normal profile. Alternatively - do a search and there will be lots of threads about this fault.
Guest Palindrome Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 When this happened to me the end of my headphone adapter had broken off. It was well jammed in there which was a right pickle of a situation to be in. Finally got Orange to replace the phone. If there's nothing stuck in there the cocktail stick method should work a treat.
Guest Pondrew Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 People used to suggest blowing hard in the headset socket. Thing is my old SPV kept getting stuck and in the end it got so bad I had to send it to be repaired under warranty. Best of luck with it...
Guest Taoski Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I'm sure a quick poke is better than a blow. Personal preference really.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 But at the end of the day chances are you will have to send the phone off for repair if the problem re-occurs.
Guest serialkillazzs Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 i used old nokia headphones to release the catch in the headphone socket at the base, using old nokia headphones u only have to push headphones half way in to use them at full volume. alternative idea if ur warranty is up and ur afraid to jam or break the connector at the base of the headphone socket. havent checked if incoming calls can be recieved with the nokia headset, try it and see. just be gentil
