Reloading SPV OS

Is it possible for me to reload Smartphone2002 from an external source to my Canary SPV? I ran the ROM update 1.6 last night & it has wrecked my phone. Hard reset, soft reset, rerunning the ROM update have all proved unsuccessful so far. ActiveSync has nothing to grab hold of on the phone - the phone only boots into boot loader menu with Erase IPSM as the only option or into the Canary 3 colour screen.

Orange have screwed me on my Orange Care insurance & refuse to play ball with keeping me a happy long-term customer, & warranty fix will see me without phone for more than a week. :x

Any help much appreciated. If it is any use, I do have an SD card reader (& a 256MB SD card) in my PC so if the memory card is the only route to fix this then how do I do that?

Thanks

Eddie

Welcome to the site :)

Run the update from the canary screen.

Activsync will not see the phone when in bootloader but as long as it

shows USB in the corner when it's connected to the PC you can run

and install the update.

Remember to disable any firewalls etc as this can interfere with the installation.

Also remember to connect the USB cable straight into the port on the motherboard, without going through a hub.

Btw it took me 3 attempts before the update worked. First time crashed at 75%, second at 93%. So just keep on trying.
