Guest kelv23 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I'm currently using an original SPV and I'm pretty happy with it as things go.Through a combination of me being a clutz and not having a case for my SPV its got the odd scratch or two on it,nothing major but I bought it cheap second hand and fancy a change of phone as I've got some spare cash to play with. I've never been a fan of Motorola's until I saw the MPX200,I've never really liked the clam shell design, don't know why but I guess I'm just one of those people who thinks that hinges belong on doors not phones. I'm aware of all the E200's good and bad points but dont really know much about the MPX200 so if you've got one and love it or hate it please use this thread to vent your anger or sing its praises. Cheers
Guest peekie Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 check the section on the motorola it has as many problems as the e200 but in other ways best to wait for the next one ( if you can ) as the next version is due soon if you want the clamshell with 2003 design
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 The MPX200 is more stable, faster and has less problems than the E200 :) but I would wait for the MPX220 if you are not desperate for a new phone at the moment. The main thing I like about the mpx is the build quality of it's components, the only thing that lets this down is the poor SIM holder.
Guest kelv23 Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Any idea when the 220's released? I get itchy fingers over this sort of thing,if its on my mind I've gotta do it soon or it drives me mad.plenty of E200's out there too,hmmmmmmm.....
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I know where you're coming from kelv23... Sounds like the MPx220 is still a few months away :) Have you seen the new Mio ? =p~
Guest bal Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Has the motorola got a built in camera? thats the thing that annoys me about my SPV i got to attach a seperate camera - i'm on my second one as i lost the orginal :) (i may upgrade to an E200 some time soon)
Guest kelv23 Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 Not seen the Mio yet but I'm off to do a bit of research now.Anyone know how much they cost?

The specs are awesome, but you're looking at £350 roughly and Orange aren't picking it up. I've read somewhere though that Mio may build one for O badged as a Sagem.. :?:
Guest pavc Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I can not say which is the best of the two phones as I have got through 2 mpx200's & 2 E200's. The first mpx200 arrived from orange with a twisted flip, and was duly returned. This was followed up with an E200, could not read keypad, again returned to orange. The second mpx200 lasted all of 2 days before the case cracked by the head phone socket and was returned to local shop, where orange accidently did not disconnect the phone until numerous calls later. The second E200 lasted a few hours, I tried to put email on to the phone, which did not work, after which the internet stoped working. A call to data services and a sim update later, the phone went into perm dial up. After several menu resets still no luck. Another long call to data serv and a hard reset it was their opinion that the phone was stuffed. Looking at the 6600 at first glance it appears to be very like the 7650 with a few alterations. pavc
