I unlocked mine last weekend and with the good US exchange rate it came out at about £12. At UnlockItNow.com. While searching for sites to do it a lot were down due to big delays. This one came back within 24 hours.

I purchased one from Ebay, registered a Orange Prepay number & then asked the lovely folk at Orange to if they'd unlock the handset so I could on the odd occassion use it with another SIM - they agreed and advised to keep at least £20 quid from the top account - easy!!

it took around 3-4 days for them to call me back with the unlocking code - not free but done all the same

Hey Jamie,

I'm due to get an MPX200 on Tuesday - bought from eBay too. It's locked to Orange, which isn't a problem as I've an Orange PAYG sim I can use in it, and want to use as first choice. I also have an O2 PAYG sim I'm using currently so will probably call Orange to see if they can unlock it if I give the same reason you did :)

One thing I'm unsure of is where you say (probably me not being awake yet!) "...they agreed and advised to keep at least £20 quid from the top account" - what do you mean by that? ... I'm thinking it's to have at least £20 credit at all times.
