Guest jhelmink Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Just a curious question: Is it with a smartphone also like on a real windows computer, that after you installed and deleted a lot of applications the windows folder is getting bigger with unnecessary files? And that the phone is getting slower? Or is the smartphone software not putting files in the original windows folder, and deleting the applications complete?? Thanks for your knowledge!! Helmpie!!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 Not quite, the main Windows folder gets re-written on every start up so it will always be the same size. The IPSM can over time get bigger and this is why I always recommend Installing all apps and games to the storage card.
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 You can look in the folder IPSM (or Storage) / Windows / AppMgr and check that all the folders in there are for software still installed on your phone. I have had to delete them manually on the phone despite using the Add / Remove Programs feature. Each folder contains .tmp files that are no use after you have uninstalled the program. Always leave the .tmp files / folders for the programs you still have installed.
