Guest Coucou Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 There's been a few versions of the bible published in British dialects, there's a Scouse one, a Yorkshire one, probably a Scots one too... I'm not sure if there's a yam-yam version.

Guest siu99spj Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Don't forget the original works in Klingon! Although not being able to speak or read Klingon myself (Except maybe when I'm very very drunk ), you got to admire those geeks for their determination! Its even more worrying that a TV show could actually create its own language :?
Guest Coucou Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 JRR Tolkien created a few languages, it's quite a popular pastime for SF/Fantasy writers. I'm not sure how but I'd guess one option is to take a language like Esperanto and use its grammar so it's not obviously just altered English, just add your own alphabet to make it look unfamiliar, or write a new alphabet based on the phonemes and plonk it on top. Then add some seasoning to taste :)
