I've just taken delivery of my new E200, very impressed so far, but cannot get the email set up! :) The user guide says go to Start/Orange/Email Wiz but there is no Email Wiz!!

Can anyone help?

Annoying that, eh !

Go to SMS, Menu, Options, Account Setup, Menu, New

There you have the wizard :)

Hope you got connected mate :)

It can be tricky. I think the Orange mainframe likes to play silly buggers when you first log in and of course you have to have all your settings handy before you try to use the wizard

If you can't do it manually, Orange can send the settings by SMS

email setup is easy but for one small mistake on orange's part... best to get settings sent to your phone from the orange site:

i'm not sure if they have rectified this, but - in your phones "email setup", there is your username, probably what you nominated on email registration.

if you look on the orange site, "email & organise","your details" you should see "email/pop3 username" which probably looks different to the one you chose and was sent in the email set up download.

it's a code (numbers & letters) & it's this that needs to be in the 'username' box in your phone.

So that explains why we've all been having so much grief :!:

Thanks for the spot nvkid909

I have a question, I may be being a bit thick here but anyway......

I have set up an orange email account and had the settings sent to my phone, when i receive an email i get a text message telling me that an email has been received, but i have to access wap to get it ???? should the email not be sent directly to the phone ????

That's the Orange way.

Probably to prevent big emails overloading the phone.

I'm assuming you mean that you have to tell the phone to download the email from your Inbox (Send / Receive) rather than opening a WAP connection yourself...

I find that useful as I can tell whether I want to download or not. You can set up automatic download to take place never/every 15 mins/30 mins/etc.. to once a day. I don't know any phone out atm which fetches e-mails when they arrive at the server, although some phones are due to come out with that feature. Don't quote me on that though...

I have an spv e200 and on the email alert the mark for download option is grey, as such the option is not available, any ideas ?

I've got a feeling that is for attachments... :?

Can you click on Send / Receive ?

The mark for download only applies to e-mails which are part downloaded. If for example you only download the header then it should become selectable.
