modaco portal question?

Is it possible for me to reduce the number of forums that will appear in my portal list when I login, at any given time??

What I would really like to see is a way for me to choose which forums I want to see the "posts since last visit". I know it may sound a bit whingy, but it's just that what with the huge number of modaco-ists, if I'm away for a night, I come back to like 1000 posts since last visit!! Which means trawling through lists of stuff I don't really look at anyway. No offence to anybodys posts or anything, its just that I have an e200, so I don't really need to know whats going on in the e100/SPV handset specific forums - etc.

It would just be kinda nice if a user could choose which forums they wish to see posts since last visit in the portal. If that is already possible somehow, please let me know how. If not, then by all means tell me to shut up!

Anything is possibe, it just depends on how easy it is to implement, in my experience. I know that if Paul withdrew your read permissions for forums you're not interested in, that would do what you want, but it would stop you reading the stuff too.

I'm not sure he can do that anyway, because guests are allowed to read the forums.

drblow, no easy way of doing that....

You can collapse categories, but that won't necessarily help in this case.

Actually, I could have usergroups for each phone type that everyone is automatically added into on sign up, and then you can 'leave' ones that you don't think are relevant. Hmmm, actually, that would cause a problem for people that aren't logged in.

DOH!

See the problem?

I'll have a think around it...

Cheers Paul! :)

Its not a real biggy or anything, but it would be nice - the bigger Modaco gets, the harder it becomes to keep track of the threads you are interested in!
